As described. My husband and I wanted a mat that would work for both of our pain tolerance and not need to get the next depth too soon. So we opted for the mid level. I have a higher pain tolerance, but he has used multiple times and enjoys the relaxation after the initial few minutes of discomfort.I have used a few times and my shoulder to butt fit on the mat and use the neck pillow.The first few minutes are a challenge but with a meditation or nice music I can breathe through it.I’ve only used on the floor, but am going to use on top of blankets to try and off load the increased pressure dispersement on butt and upper back due to my lumbar arch. My husband has used k. Top of a mattress and like it.The size works well for both of us. He is 6’7 and I 5’6”. He uses for the back only.Quality and appearance is classy.

This actually relaxes me…wasn’t expecting that
When I ordered my Shakti mat, I really wasn’t expecting much. I saw a sponsored ad for it, and I read all the “this hurts but if you stick through it, it’ll be worth it” comments and I thought, sure why not, I’ll try it. I work an office job and am battling some health things, so my tension is through the roof. I will try anything to help with that. So…bed of nails? Sure why not.Totally glad I did.I’m using the original shakti mat (not the “light” one nor the “advanced”). I use it on the floor and I don’t use a fabric barrier. The first time I used it, laying down on it was a bit of a shock (also, I watched a video of how to lay on it and how to get back up…I highly recommend doing that). It was very, very sharp and while it was uncomfortable, I wouldn’t say it was painful. Now, I have a pretty high threshold for pain so I can see where this wouldn’t be for everyone, but for me, it was quite tolerable. After about 15 seconds, the sharpness went away and ultimately I ended up very relaxed.I spend usually 15-20 minutes on the mat. Usually I listen to music, sometimes I’ll do a guided meditation. But no matter what I do, I find that after that time has elapsed, I feel much less frantic, and much more relaxed after having laid down on the shakti mat. Now whether that’s due to being on 6,000 pins, or whether it’s due to 15-20 minutes of quiet peace, I can’t say for sure. But I can say that meditation on its own has never had such an effect. So for me, the combination is working.I highly recommend trying this, if you’re like me and you carry tension around like it’s your job.Side note: I bought the pillow too but it doesn’t work for me. I’m very short (5’0) so the pillow is too high for me to rest comfortably. I realized, though, that because I’m short, I can put a normal pillow under the end of the shakti mat and I still get full coverage from my lower back all the way up my neck to my head (I prefer it to stop at the top of my neck, so this is actually perfect).

There’s nothing wrong with this mat. It was just so painfully spikey. I had to return it. It worsened my back pain. But friends told me it really helped them.

This was a Christmas present for my son and he loves it. Said he can feel it digging in the right places and uses it daily. Says he feel it’s helping and feels great afterwards.

I’ve only used this for a week but have noticed reduced sciatic pain and I have slept much better over the last few nights. I now make this part of my pre-sleep routine for 20 minutes whilst reading a book and I find I’m looking forward to those 20 mins each day

difficile spiegare l’effetto benefico dello shakti mat se non lo avete mai provato, Io ho preso questa versione perchè piu lunga ma ho usato la classica per anni, decontrae, rilassa, allevia i dolori e addirittura induce il sonno (io devo puntare la sveglia dopo 15 minuti altrimenti mi addormento e ci resto troppo a lungo). Prezzo leggermente inferiore a quello del sito ufficiale.
